Steam & Excursion > WP Dead LineDate: 08/29/14 15:40 WP Dead Line Author: TTM Ralph Buhr took this photo at Western Pacific yard in Stockton on April 26, 1953. From left to right we have the 309, 33, and 40, all 2-8-0s, and 384, a 2-8-2. They were all waiting to be scrapped.
Thanks for looking, Tom Date: 08/29/14 16:20 Re: WP Dead Line Author: Frisco1522 Makes me sick!
Date: 08/29/14 16:26 Re: WP Dead Line Author: Keystone1 How were you lucky enough to get these photos? They are wonderful. What's the story behind them?
Date: 08/29/14 16:27 Re: WP Dead Line Author: zephyrus Actually, 309 would be a 2-8-2 as well. Looks like another 2-8-0 lurking between the 33 and 40.
By this date, only a small handful of WP steamers were still running, IIRC. Z Date: 08/29/14 17:05 Re: WP Dead Line Author: lynnpowell #309 is one of the five USRA heavy 2-8-2's that WP got during World War I. WP didn't have a #384.
Date: 08/29/14 17:40 Re: WP Dead Line Author: SierraRail 2-8-2 #309 was finally scrapped in December, 1953.
