Steam & Excursion > CRRM K37 and some other photosDate: 08/30/14 21:55 CRRM K37 and some other photos Author: grandroad As Grande-Fan noted below the Colorado Railroad Museum finished restoring to operating condition Rio Grande K 37 No. 491. I went out to the museum today and took some pictures as it was in operation all day pulling seven cars and a caboose. One of the engineers said this is now the largest operating narrow gauge steam locomotive in the country.

The F9 5771 A & B were often the main power for the California Zephyr. When I was about 5 years old the UP ran an 0-6-0 switcher about were I25 goes east of Broadway in Denver, My dad stopped the car to watch it and the engineer invited me up to ride in the engine. I was terrified and didn't do it. We all have regrets in our lives. Last is the locally famous Number 346 which is the oldest operating steam locomotive in the state.
