I'm not an expert on steam but something just doesn't seem quite right with this restoration. I can't place it though.

What would that be? Isn't it bright and shiny enough for you? She sure looks good to me!

Perhaps the missing jacket/lagging over the staybolts in front of the cab?

Also the jacketing on the Pistons need to bee added

Is #491 burning oil?
I remember riding behind #346 and hearing the request for used motor oil. But #346 has the cinder basket modifuction and they now run opposite direction than a few years ago after setting the neighbor's field on fire so it's a coal burner.
Didn't get a chance to get up there to see #491 this weekend but I have enjoyed everyone's reports. Thanks guy's!
