A Pot of Gold at Chama
Author: kwo

After a 15-car doubleheader Saturday morning, a 10-car train 215 came into Chama with little fanfare, a lot of it in rain. After the train let everyone off, they pulled forward to allow the cars to be re-stocked. As they were finishing the last few cars, rain started spitting out of the sky, and a couple rainbows formed! We walked up to where they were stopped from our spot to catch this, and it's a good thing we did, because shortly before they started pulling the sun disappeared.

Here's a shot of CTS 487 stopped in the yard near the scale track (the scale can be seen on the left side near the bottom). I am still going through 430 pictures from the weekend, but I hope you enjoy!

If anything represents the Pot o' Gold, that would certainly be my choice! Very nice.

That's a really nice photo! Love the grimy
workaday look of the 487, and her surroundings.
So there is a steam locomotive at the end of a
rainbow -- how wonderful! <g>
