The Glenbrook Fired Up For First Time In 89 Years!
Author: LoggerHogger

After over 30 years of restoration work the famous Carson Flume & Lake Tahoe RR Glenbrook was fired up yesterday for the first time in 89 years.

The 1875 engine passed her state boiler test and will be put into final operation condition in the next 60 days. This is a project that many of us us have been following for years now. Here are 3 shots taken at the historic event yesterday.

CMO Chris Dewitt and his crew at the Nevada State Railroad Museum have done a wonderful job in bringing this project to a great conclusion.

Odd looking tender. Not much room for water. Love all the brass.

Here. Here. I raise my glass to another group of guys preserving steam for my sons to see and be part of. Hopefully they'll carry on the torch as they get older.
