UP 830 Location?

Here is a photo by Dave England, but he does not recall the date or location. The photo print has "Sep" on the border, but no year.

My own guess is Laramie because of the stone building in the background.

Or Grand Island, NE.

Thanks. Grand Island it is. There are several more in Dave's collection, now that I look for others at Grand Island, in almost the exact same spot.

Was the 814 an FEF 1? Shouldn't the tender have 6 wheel trucks, normally?

Yes. But it and others got tenders from FEF-2's and -3's,
and the FEF-1 tenders were then converted into fuel tenders
for the GTELs.

At least one of those stone buildings in Grand Island is still
standing and in use by Nebraska Central.

That's the one. It's also the second oldest standing building on the UP
