Steam & Excursion > Mini PacificsDate: 12/19/14 09:44 Mini Pacifics Author: africansteam Earlier this week, in conjunction with Martin's posts on the restoration of the Skookum, Wag216 reminded us of Skookum's sister, Little River 110 and noted it was the smallest 4-6-2 ever built.
Does anyone have the specs on Little River 110? I would like to compare them with those for three other small Pacifics, Estado Ferro Dona Thereza Christina Nos. 50, 51 and 52. No. 50 is shown here at the famous "Railroad of Death" - the Maderia-Mamore in September of 1984. Cheers, Jack Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/19/14 15:57 by africansteam. I made that statement. I think I should have said, the smallest "standard gauge" Pacific ever built. Victor A. Baird http://www.erstwhilepublications.com Edited 1 time(s). Date: 12/19/14 10:46 Re: Mini Pacifics Author: trainrider47 A Baldwin 2 foot gauge Pacific, currently at the Brecon Mountain Railway in Wales might be the smallest Pacific built in the US.
Outside the US, the 15" gauge Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Pacific's might be the smallest Pacific's built for a common carrier. Michael Allen Date: 12/19/14 12:03 Re: Mini Pacifics Author: Hillcrest Jack, the most complete specs I could find on the 110 was at steamlocomotive.com under Pacific 110...and I think the "snookums" thing might have some legs, haaahahaa...

It's growing legs! Cheers, Jack Date: 12/20/14 04:56 Re: Mini Pacifics Author: MaryMcPherson Good place to look for some comparative stats is the April, 1983, issue of Trains Magazine. A piece on the 110 was the cover article.
