PM 1225 Smokes it up in Michigan
Author: jkh2cpu

I'm at the Reuss Road crossing in the outskirts of Owosso, MI,
and I've been waiting here patiently for PM 1225 to come along.
The temperature is 25 F, which really helps display the water
vapor in the exhaust. The sun angle is not ideal to show off
the locomotive and train on the approach, but it does a great
job illuminating that splendid exhaust plume.

Mr Hot Water: there are no dinging crossing bells, and the
engineer is certainly exercising his locomotive: hope you
like it.

Well, you are correct about no dinging crossing bells. However, the whistle sure blew the exhaust sound away! Visually very nice, though.

Coulda hooked her up a notch or two.
When Dave Goodheart used to record us, he would get away from all crossings and asked that we not whistle at him. He wanted to hear the engine. Me too.

Nice video, great steam, and I will say again as I have many times before, it is a shame that 1225 cannot display "POLAR EXPRESS" as she was the star and inspiration for the movie of that name. See thread below.

Nice stuff. Sure enjoyed the sounds of a working steam engine.
