D&S Polar Express Sets New Ridership Record

In an ad in yesterday's Durango Herald thanking the community, the D&S reported that 2014 Polar Express ridership topped 25,500, setting a new record. The revenue will go a long way to keeping the steam ponies in good condition, I imagine.

Here we see K36 482, lettered for the Polar, taking the Cascade Turn up Hermosa Hill just south of the CO 550 overpass after a morning snowfall last month.

That link led to a cool video. Love the looks on the kids faces. That must have been a great year for it, with all the snow.
