Durango & Silverton 2015 Winter Photo Special
Author: burlingtonjohn

One week ago today on the "high line". #20 of 21 photo runs spread out over 9 hours. The crew and staff were beyond amazing, can't wait for my next trip west!

I don't know what you are using for equipment but...that has to be the most hi-def video I have ever seen. Nicely Done!!! Good location, subject matter and timing, thanks for sharing.

Great video. One question (NOT a criticism!): Why didn't the left side of the frame include the entire track? (I've been in situations where, for any number of reasons, I couldn't frame the shot as I wanted.) Just curious. :-)

A plea to still photographers: PLEASE mute your equipment. Nothing can be done about shutter clicks, of course, but the *focusing* beeps of DSLR's and P&S *can* be muted.

The camera was my iPhone 5s mounted on my tripod. The sun made it very difficult to frame the shot properly, hence the left side of the frame was cut off. I thought the sound too good to delete it, though. It was an exceptional day all the way around!

Train was exceeding the 5 MPH speed limit there----thank goodness! Sure not much snow around there.

Enjoyed the video.

The lack of snow has been cured in spades in the last 24 hours, at least a foot here in the valley and its still snowing.

I wish there was some way that I could have captured the smell of the coal smoke. Talk about sensory overload!

That's amazing for an iPhone!

I was going to buy a digital video camera for the trip. I don't shoot video that often and a good digital video camera costs more than I wanted to spend, so I thought I would try using the phone instead. I'm pretty pleased with the results.

Glad yall like!

Good job, John, and like the others, I am impressed with the capability of the iphone.
