UP Steam: A Look in the Toolbox
Author: trainjunkie

A new video from the steam shop landed in my Facebook feed. I haven't watched it yet. Just passing it on. It's linked from here.

Boy he sure sounds like he knows what he's talking about. I'm just overwhelmed by all those big words! Look at all that old bad stuff the old crew put on.

All that stuff is great, but how necessary is all that stuff to what the 844 actually needs? I mean if the stuff IS old and worn out and needs to be replaced as things do need to be, is that stuff really necessary or is he just replacing this stuff for the same reason as the rods? (Less noise, shinier, less grease splatters etc.)

The dumb SOB needs to get 844 and 3985 running again! He sounds like someone else who constantly blames the previous administration for all the problems he can't seem to fix.

Comments are already being removed from the Facebook page. What a joke.

This looks like something he's putting out so he can say "See, I am doing something. Making tools. Oh, and I have a couple of other guys working here too."

Speaking of which does anyone know who they are? Have they been there or new?

The good news is that Ed said UP 844, UP 4014 and then UP 3985 so it looks as we will get all three running again.

I tried but stopped watching at 1 minute. Couldn't take it. A bunch of noise to distract everyone from the real issues. Blah.

It's just more of the usual bunkum from the pathological liar.

He has no clue what he's talking about.

Someone should ask him on camera why the locomotive ran so well
for so long if the old crew was so bad and neglectful. And why
nothing runs at all since he took over.

Oh I agree with that but I thought the idea was to get the 4014 up and running by 2019. I do not see how that will be done with such a small crew. The only way it will be done is to have it outsourced.

I think that if and when DL is de-throned the world will cheer....

In whose lifetime?

This is the same POS who claimed 844 would run a trip
in the fall of 2013. Then he claimed it would run to the
CWS in 2014, then on Frontier Days in 2014, and is now
telling gullible droolers it will run to CWS this year.

The man is utterly shameless.

Someone on another forum questioned whether they are doing the ultrasound on 844. Did the dl actually indicate that in the video (I refuse to watch anything that habitual liar puts out)?

Interesting observation as he told a friend of mine that the 3985 would never run again. Hmmmmm.

His words were, "boiler scope project which is underway currently."

I think it is lip service so people stop asking. I don't think he has any intention of touching 3985 which is a good thing in my opinion. That way he doesn't screw it up
