Steam & Excursion > Steam upgrade on a 'S' curve - a good combination!Date: 03/03/15 07:19 Steam upgrade on a 'S' curve - a good combination! Author: spdaylight This clip is from my DVD '3716 Cariboo Special' which was shot during a four day excursion from North Vancouver to 100 Mile House and return. This S curve is located south of Whistler as ex CPR #3716 worked hard NB up grade at Pinecrest.
The engineer that day saw me chasing her and he kindly left the ditch lights off. She was the back up locomotive for the Royal Hudson during it's 25 years of excursion service from North Vancouver to Squamish between 1975 and 2000. Craig http://mcmrailvideos.com/ Edited 1 time(s). The British Columbia Railway was a going concern until CN turned it into a 300 mile branch line. They typically ran close to a dozen freights plus passengers (the famous Budd Cars), now it's down to a daily trip each way on the south end... Steampower forever.
