Burlington O5 best restoration candidate

Assuming money was no object and an established group wanted to restore an O5 and had a place to run it, which of the survivors would be the best to consider?

I would say since it's the only surviving oil burner the #5629 at the Colorado State RR Museum.

Weren't the friends of 261 considering an O5 when the future of 261 was up in the air?

I'd be happy to see either an O5 or a Hudson.  Both beautiful engines.

I agree with John, the St. Joe engine would be an excellent candidate, very well preserved engine.

This restoration would of course be kept as a national secret also in the event 'dl' wanted to go help with the work ?  ?  ?  ?

It always seemed to me that the Wyoming climate might be dryer than most.  5631 might have less corrosion. Don't know, just guessing. i got to see and ride behind 5632 in the 60's. I'm ready for another Q engine.

Steve wanted a Q Hudson really bad. I was kinda sad when they made a deal for the 261.
