Steam & Excursion > ATSF 2926 Work Update Week Ending 03/21/15

The group's big news is that work on the boiler has been completed, tubes have been seal-welded and re-expanded, and they are getting ready to seal boiler openings (not mentioned, but likely for future hydro test). Other work involved various tasks necessary to be completed before putting her back together. These can be reviewed at the work status update:

I don't really need to be there for the hydro test, I can follow that here, or on their website. I do want to be there when they fire it up for the first time. I want to see the first flame lit, and spend the day watching it slowly come to life again, after a half century of hibernation.

They may have to rent and erect bleachers outside the barbed wire fence for that. Think 4014 crowds when it finally gets to move under its own power out of the spur! (Dreaming I know...)

If the info in this thread is correct, there will be a place for the old girl to stretch her legs next year!
