High noon
Author: tomstp

The shadow shows the time of day as high noon making photography a little difficult.  But, anyway a unknown photographer took a shot of this IGN 2-8-2  # 1248 (for all intent and purpose,  Missouri Pacific) in Palestine, Tx as she throws her oil smoke up high just starting it's run from this division point.

Thats quite the building in the background. Almost looks haunted with the cloud directly above it. Neat photo.

Don't know about Palestine, but many Texas county seats have buildings that look like that - sheriff's office and jail in basement, clerk, assessor and treasurer on main floor, and other county offices and judges and courtrooms on second and third floor. The remaining ones are listed on the national historic register.
