Steam & Excursion > The John Molson at Steam Expo '86Date: 04/24/15 07:47 The John Molson at Steam Expo '86 Author: spdaylight During the World's Fair in Vancouver in 1986, Steam Expo was one of the featured events. 17 operating steam locomotives on site . . . the last time that many locomotives have been steamed up daily - very unlikely that will ever happen again. One of the operating engines was the John Molson (replica). Built in 1970, she is a replica of the original John Molson (a 2-2-2) built in 1849 in Scotland by Kinmonds, Hutton and Steel in Dundee Scotland. She operated on the Champlain and St. Lawrence Railroad. This replica has been a featured exhibit at Exporail in Montreal for many years and is steamed up most weekends in the summer months.

On display at Railfair '99 was the "De Arend", a replica of a 1830s Belgium broad guage (74") locomotive. |
