Daylight at Magnolia Tower

The Tower Operator is out watching SP 4449 as it heads south with an excursion past Magnolia Tower on an early weekend morning around 1990.  The Tower and the UP diamond and Oakland Terminal Railway's interchange just ahead are for the most part gone.  Amtrak's Oakland commissary and Service Facility has replaced most of what is visible to the right of the large West Oakland yard complex.

May 3 1989 is the exact date. Great photo!
I had just seen her off at 16th street station a few minutes before your shot!
