Great view Chris. Never have I seen a shot like that before.

On funding, there is a big statewide push to restore the funding bill that died at the end of the legislative session in March. If a special session is called to consider it, the content of the bill is critical for the RR. The state Senate bill had significant funding for the RR including rebuild for one engine as the FRA steam deadline looms, continuing trackwork including tie replacement, passenger car improvement and visitor center early design/engineering. Before it died, all but minor funding for C&TS water system repair had been stripped by the NM House and put into highway construction. At that point time ran out and all statewide finding for all infrastructure projects failed. A special legislative session will not be called by the Governor unless the differing project funding is settled and agreed upon. Bottom line is that even if a special session is held, the RR may still get screwed.

Update 5/15: The ABQ Journal is reporting that negotiations for a special session have broken off in acrimony with each side blaming each other with being dishonest. In response, the governor has said she will not call the session as an agreement has not been forged.

Thanks, Chris, for views never seen from these angles in the past.  They really help to put the ground views into perspective.  Nice job, man.

The advent of these flying camera drones has opened up a wealth of new photos from the air. Those used to cost $$$ to rent a chopper and film crew. Now can be done with a $500+ drone & GoPro camera !!

Very very cool shots !

I think it's Fn3. Bachmann, AMS, and some others have a lot of Rio Grande narrow gauge equipment available. :-)

Great images!! Thanks for sharing.

It's like the Montgolfier brothers all over again! Places we thought we had seen almost too many photos of are suddenly seen in a whole new way.

Thanks Chris....fine job!
