Steam & Excursion > 4960 Giving a ShowDate: 05/24/15 14:32 4960 Giving a Show Author: MartyBernard This wasn't a runby, but it was a great show. She had them really rolling outbound on a fan trip, March 21, 1965, steaming through Leland, IL.
Enjoy, Marty Bernard Date: 05/24/15 15:00 Re: 4960 Giving a Show Author: HotWater Absolutely one of the very best photos I've ever seen of good old 4960. Just look at the big Worthington BL Feedwater Heater doing its job.

Thanks, Craig Hanson Vay, Idaho / Northbrook, Illinois Date: 05/24/15 15:56 Re: 4960 Giving a Show Author: HotWater Frisco1522 Wrote:

I got drafted late in 1964 and returned to work at EMD on January 2, 1967. Although I did get to see 5632 coming back into Chicago on occasion, plus that early summer 1964 operation out of Lincoln, Neb, I missed "all the good stuff" during 1965 & 1966. It is pretty much all "steam vapor" due to the cold weather. If they had not wrecked her appearance would they have reduced their revinue? Maybe. But would it have beeen anything close to the cost of distroying her personality with a face job? Marty Bernard Date: 05/24/15 19:28 Re: 4960 Giving a Show Author: OKTrainboys No worries Marty.....I basically agree with you about 4960, and your photo you posted is truly amazing....but I for one am just happy in a simple way the 4960 is alive, healthy and basically happy with a sustainable purpose on the GCSR in 2015 no matter what her current livery.

Incredible photo by the way!! Posted from Android Date: 05/25/15 20:07 Re: 4960 Giving a Show Author: SD45X SA-WHEET!!!!
