Date: 05/26/15 10:20 Re: Royal Hudson 2860 Author: flash34 It's not legally operable. It requires whatever the Canadian version of a 1472 day inspection is. I've heard there will be a fundraising effort soon to pay for this work.

There is an evening gala event planned with the 2860 also. Vancouver the next day, I sure hope that someday she will operate again. A beautiful locomotive, and what's even better, a Hudson. I feel fortunate to have ridden behind both restored Hudsons, 2816 and 2860. Sure wish the NY Central saved one.

Jim, sorry to learn that your video didn't turn out. While my film and video collection is not easily accessible right now, I'll write myself a note to duplicate some for you that I took from the cab while a guest of engineer Frank Smith almost 40 years ago which I wrote about a few years ago at http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?10,2690716,2691288#msg-2691288. |
