Why is the tender not lettered for a railroad? Is there a reason other than it did not get done yet?

The engine was ordered and delivered without the company name.  Given that the name was Carson & Tahoe Lumber & Fluming Company, the tender just isn't big enough to carry the name.
The restoration is complete.

Does the locomotive have a steam jam brake?

No.  It has the Johnson Bar

What is the small black lever next to the johnson bar then?

That would be a cylinder cock.

Look at the wheels, no brake shoes on the engine.  Hand brake on the tender.

Isn't that lever for the crosshead pump bypass? I thought the cylinder cock lever was on ther floor, just in front of the engineers feet?

Such a tribute to the Victorian era of railroading

I was referring to the one on the cab deck. Where's the other one?
