Shop tour, 6-27-15
Author: Grande-Fan

Over the weekend a histrorical group I am in, went on a tour of the Union Paicific Steam Shops in Cheyenne, WY.
The tour went well. Here are the UP 844, 3985 and the 4014.
Please refrain from nasty comments.
Thank you,

I was wondering why our tour didn't get to the stack side of the 844 then I noticed your tour was
on a Saturday and not a normal work day. How come your pictures look just like mine from a month
ago?

Perhaps just for both the novelty of it and for a refreshing change we mutually agree to limit any comments to positive statements??? Just this once let's practice " mothers rule"....if you can't say something nice......don't say anything !!!

Behind the 4014 it appears that is the "Art Lockman" tool car. Walthers is coming out with a model of that car sans the dent in the one door that Art put in it driving the fork lift loading the car for one of our trips. I may modify my model to reflect that.

The tour was lead by Ed Dickens also some members of our group "Jim Erenberger, Bob F" along with Mary Nystrom, talked about their time with the UP and the steam program.
The steam crew works 5 days a week, Saturday was our tour.

OK, considering what has happened to the "UP Steam Program" since January 2011, just how are any of us supposed to post ANYTHING positive?

I can remember thinking the ears looked hammered 30+ years ago. They could use a good sheet metal guy.

Gee Bob, Does one of the decal sheets have the red arrow to point at the dent? ;)

The tarps have been moved around within the last month.

don't show that picture #1 to an OSHA inspector or you'll have a fine on your hands. the green portable eye wash station in the center left portion of the picture does not have a catch basin underneath it. so if you get some nasty chemical in your eye and need to wash it, the discharge will spill on to the floor and now you have a slipping hazard. not a good idea. dave, out.

Look a little closer.  The catch basin is built-in.
