Steam & Excursion > A different locomotiveDate: 06/29/15 19:26 A different locomotive Author: Bob3985 In 2002 I was invited over to Germany to visit the land of my ancestors. In between trips searching out the locations my ancestral family came from I got to visit a few railways. Some of these steam railways are narrow guage and almost too small for me.
The first photo is sitting in a 99 class locomotive. The second is at Bad Doberon getting ready to ride their railway to Heiligendamm. They run on a timetable schedule which is in conjunction with DB (Deutsche Bundesbahn). This railway is up in Mecklenburg in North East Germany near the Baltic Sea. It was a wonderful trip and I got to see a lot in the 10 days I was there. Thanks to Andreas and Wolfgang for inviting me over and helping me get around. When I get more of my slides scanned I will post them on here. I also got to visit Basel Switzerland and Mulhousen in France.
