In 1940 the 567 replaced the 221 at Taylor.

First photo show out with the old, in with the new

Second photo - close up of the 567 (funny numbering of a non-EMD lokie)

Was this a fireless job?  There appears to be no fuel bunker or tank unless hidden under the cowling.

According to Guy Dunscomb's "A Century of Southern Pacific Steam Locomotives" 20 Pacific Lines 0-6-0s were converted to shop switchers and were tank engines, including 567, in the late 1930s... 567 was the only one given the "streamlined" look.

Here is the first photo - just a better image to see the detail in both engines.

I think someone did the 567 in HO brass many, MANY years ago, if my failing memory serves me! Always thought it was a neat looking engine!

I believe that Westside did  the engine, like late seventies or so.

There was also # 565 that was almost identicle to 567, it was used at LA General Shops Roundhouse.

Chris, very nice but I still think that Westside did the engine in HO.

Here's another view of SP 0-6-0 567, courtesy of the Denver Public Library collection of Otto Perry images.

Thank you...these are the only two shop switchers imported by Westside.....this is why I built one.

Wow, what a very neat looking engine, and a very good model of it as well. Well done!
