Here are a few shots from my trip to Chama for chasing and riding the trains. On Saturday 8/22 I arrived in town in time to shot both the 215, the daily train from Antonito and the Sunset Dinner train which runs Saturday only.

We see train 215 approaching the second crossing of route 17, counted from Chama, with engine 488 leading.

Train 215 is shown crossing Lobato trestle with K36 488 leading.

K36 488 is passing the coal tipple in Chama yard as train 215 is almost there.

K36 489 is leading the Sunset diner train out of Chama for the run up to Cumbres Pass where the passengers will be treated to supper and music.

The Sunset train is coming out of the Narrows.

K36 489 has gotten the train up to Windy Point and will soon be cresting the grade and stopping at Cumbres.

The lighting and background clutter of the coal tipple really came together for a nice shot of the 488!

Thanks for posting your shots.
