The Jumps tours were a lot of fun.  I went on two, one of them was a triple header.

My last ride on the "old" Sierra was a Jumps Tours Jimtown-Oakdale roundtrip in November, 1979 using 28 and 34. The Sierra had just given up it's passenger service and at the time it was thought this might be the last steam passenger train to Oakdale.  A bit later the PLA announced it's "last runs" to be run over New Year's.

The audio recording I made of  those 2 storming up Dry Creek Canyon from Canyon Tank is something I will always treasure.

ROCK ON #34!

Its odd that there is a WP caboose in the background next to the hopper cars.

Maybe it was going to Jamestown for placement at the depot site?

If I am keeping up with the times correctly, 28 is now undergoing restoration and 34 is stil stored idle in the roundhouse in Jamestown and owned by Fred Kepner?
