SP steam in San Antonio in 1947

Southern Pacific #79, an 0-6-0 switcher built by Schenectady.  I believe only 4 were built for the TNO in this class.

Photo taken by Stan Styles on May 28th, 1947.  Stan was a prolific steam photographer who lived on the west coast of Canada but made the occasional foray deep into the USA.  This photo was taken on one of these long distance trips.  From the Craig McDowall/Gary Oliver Collection

One thing you could say about SP was that tender swapping was a common practice. Slap a tender on it and send it out.
