You have not been there recently, like during our Spring Meet. Lots of steamers slugging it out up the 3% hill. Date: 11/23/15 15:49 Re: Riverside Live Steam Northern working the grade Author: TrackGuy This has to be one of the first LE Northerns built. Seymour Johnson's 4751 I believe is credited as being the first. Would be curious know where RLS' Northern falls in age.

My wife Suzie (only married six months that same December) operated the Hunter engine as well. She was absolutely thrilled. Her instructor was pioneer Live Steamer "Dick Bagley"... After a few loops, she was on her own, like a Pro !! I caught the event on Super-8 movies ! KRK Date: 11/23/15 20:46 Re: Riverside Live Steam Northern working the grade Author: miniempire Track Guy - I believe the Hunter engine number tells the story "5057", started in 1950, completed in 1957.
(Rich, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) Brook Date: 11/24/15 15:52 Re: Riverside Live Steam Northern working the grade Author: TrackGuy Brook, thanks for that insight. The numbers do make sense. KRK, nice shot of the Casford's 2900 series ATSF 4-8-4.
