Scranton know as the "Electric City" because it was first to have trolley operations, it is only fitting that the Lackawanna County trolley follow the 26.

Great Idea!!!!

Bring the CNJ  #113 to Scranton this Summer..

They could host a HUUUGE double-header !!!
And a whole string of open window coaches.....manned by pistol-totin', funny hat-ed, Nat'l Park Service employees. ( if you and little Johnnie are put off the train for rules infraction, " you'll have to hoof-it back to Scranton,  AND you won't get a Refund!!!").

Imagine ----0-6-6-0s Thru Nayaug Tunnel !!!
Should make an AWESOME audio recording...

[ Maybe there's additional 0-X-0s that could join in the FUN...??.. "Switcher Sundays?"].

Construction number is close to the stuffed & mounted BLW 4-10-2 (#60,000) sitting in Ben Franklin Museum, Philly....

At Scranton, they could've shined up that 0-6-0's dirty builder's plate with either nut-t blasting, of soda-blasted....
It then would shine like new and the grit won't hurt the machinery, and it's bio-degradable!!!

That'd have 'em shining like ' a  new dollar'. ( back when there ere dollar coin currencies...).

Alternatively, some collectors paint the plate a glossy black with the printed info, in high relief, all brilliantly polished.
Either way, the improved builder's plate would reflect the builder's pride, back in the day...

They did a good job replicating the painting, but missed conveying the pride that American's had in their handiwork, and in they're esteem they had for their employer.  Engines from Baldwin's were very much spit and polish, as they left the plant.....
Steamtown could convey that classic American sense of pride, today; especially, with a  $10,000,000.00 annual budget.
Everything up there, today, should be shining like brand new,  & not looking like the sad shape of the RRs in the 1960s...

( and it took how many years to do a 90-day job?  A 1472-day certification/inspection --- on an already operating loco---- could be done very quickly, professionally and neatly on that switcher, easily in 90 working-days.
..... I guess 'other things' got in the way., I'll not list the 'other things'....).
