Steam & Excursion > Duluth UpdateDate: 05/24/16 17:56 Duluth Update Author: gbmott I was in Duluth a couple of weeks ago and photographed the two steam locomotives currently undergoing restoration in their shop; D&NE 28 (restoration to operation) and NP 2435 (total cosmetic overhaul). The 28 was having its throttle reinstalled in the picture below and expects to have its hydro next month with test runs, and possibly a few public runs, in late September. NP 2435 now sports a completely new wood cab to which the original sheetmetal plating will be attached. The workmanship in the boiler jacketing, and especially the jacketing of the backhead, is exceptional. All in all, two very nice pieces of work being done quietly and very professionally.
