NKP #765 visits Wisconsin June 12 and a Look Back

Finally getting around to putting up some photos from the NKP #765 visit to Wisconsin on June 12th.  It was a great trip even though the weather didn't cooperate like the forecast said it would OH WELL !!  A BIG THANK YOU to the NKP #765 crew and WSOR/WATCO for allowing the trip to happen.  Great to see the #765 anytime.  Here are some shots from the day.

Shot #1 - Rounding the curve at Wilson Road in Ingleside, IL on METRA trackage.
Shot #2 - Just departing Fox Lake crossing a small channel
Shot #3 - With a stiff wind and temps in the 60's #765 crosses Hwy 120 just entering into the Badger State

Shot #7 A perk of chasing on Sunday a classic Ford T Bird, but the hood was up hopefully no problems
Shot #8 NKP #765 glides into the small Wisconsin town of Zenda
Shot #9  The #765 passes a classic Milwaukee Road style switchstand in Zenda

Shot #10 Save the best for last.  At a semi rural crossing at Kuhn Road west of Fox Lake WI  #765 upsetting the EPA but WHO CARES !!

Shot #11 #765 lays down a classic "smoke turd"

Shot #12 - Looking back 31 years at NKP #765.  Here in St Francis/Milwaukee, WI on the CNW Kenosha Sub.  I believe it had pulled a Chicago Chapter NRHS special up to Milwaukee.  The train was turned on the wye at St Francis while riders were bussed to location attractions.  After 31 years #765 has aged very well.

That is a 1959 Ford Fairlane 500 4-door sedan, not a Thunderbird.

Nice photos, but when has the EPA objected to smoke from main line steam excursions?

I realized my Ford mistake to late. Must have had Fairlane fever
The EPA doesn't care but it made for an attention getting title

Most definitely.  Zenda was a great place with the wide open field.  It was a great day.
