This week's update (June 18) includes photos and videos of the new engine house dedication on June 11 and subsequent work the following week. After cleaning up and putting away tables and chairs, the engine was disconnected from the tender which will remain in the engine house. After pulling the engine out, work resumed on the air compressor system and brakes. Other items were addressed while being mindful of the need to stay cool and hydrated in the very hot weather.

The dedication photo set includes site preparation, eight dedication videos and the lunch BBQ. (My favorite video is the 0:46 second video closeup of the drive wheels as the engine comes out of the engine house.)

Those kittens are probably thinking "well this is new - now where do we go for shelter"?

The kitties currently have access to the new engine house. That will be changed when the area under the doors is sealed; the structure still needs wiring for lights and the exhaust fan installed.
