Question for the 261 folks.
Author: Frisco1522

I've been watching for any photos of the two support cars, plus the Silurian/Bluebonnet that went north from the 1522 group.    Anyone know the status on these as of now?
Just curious.

Don,  Pretty sure that FO261 bought those cars for the OSH trucks under them.  I think the cars are on cribbing.

The ex-MILW car had Nystrom trucks under it and was a bag/dorm.  Both cars were Amtrak certified, so its a shame if they aren't using them somehow.  I don't know where the business car Silurian/Bluebonnet went.
Like to see photos of them now.

If it helps you, I found two photos from my 2013 visit to the Minneapolis shops.

The baggage car is ex-NP.  Our other car was ex-MILW.

I was on the excursion they ran this month. I believe the first baggage car in the consist was the Black Gold, but it is in Hiawatha colors now. Yellow car is still sitting and appears the same as it was before.

The yellow car wasn't one of ours.  We had the baggage car shown in blue & white and an ex MILW baggage dorm car which we modified.  It was a good car and served as our crew car.  The bag was more of a storage car while the bag/dorm, was the "HQ".

I haven't found close up pictures, but to my untrained eye, the second car looks like it could be the Black Gold. The length and roof vents seem to match up. See pictures in this thread: http://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?10,4045458

It sure looks like it.  We put doors on the passenger end when we had it.   It was the Firefly and the Bag was the Black Gold.  The business car we painted blue and white was called the Bluebonnet when we used it.   I don't know where it ended up.  If that is the Firefly, it sure looks nice.
