It IS absolutely amazing what modern cell phones can do, isn’t it, as far as quality of photos and videos? And methinks I even heard her rods clanking nicely. She looks and sounds great -- except for her missing Mars light. But she is running on the maibn line -- at last. :) It was also greaet to hear a real bell on a crossing gate, instead of the modern electronic ones. I kow, IU know -- no one pakes part for those wonderful bells any more. That is why it is such a treat to hear one. :) Date: 07/22/16 07:33 Re: UP844 - Henderson, CO Author: kingman Now thats a train !

I wonder -- Is this the longest CFD train ever? The 3 business cars at the front of the train are all open-platform observation cars, and each of the 3 has her open platform facing the front. The "Harriman" has her open platforom at facing the rear. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/22/16 19:13 by Margaret_SP_fan. I went to the UP's great page: "Historical Equipment Still In Use" https://www.up.com/aboutup/special_trains/historical_equipment/index.htm and looked at the page for each car in the above CFD consist, and added up the seating capacity of each car, and got 704 -- 728 if they seat people in the dining room of each business car. The above total assumes they sell evey seat. The UP did a great job with this site, giving the history of each of the 45 cars they own. And the cars themselves are beautiful, and very comfortable. There are even window shades for every dome window, a very nice -- and very practical -- modification. As I post this, it is now only 13 hours until the departure time of this special tain. I hope for the very best for Mr. Dickens, his entire crew, and every one of the passengers. Edited 2 time(s). Last edit at 07/22/16 19:08 by Margaret_SP_fan.
