Date: 07/23/16 08:16 Re: The Madam Queen is for sale Author: santafe199 I wonder how many deserving cities or significant smaller towns along the Santa Fe never got an ATSF display steam engine? Right off the bat, Argentine comes to mind...
Lance/199 Date: 07/23/16 09:37 Re: The Madam Queen is for sale Author: PERichardson An RFP typically doesn't require them to award the deal being considered to any responder. At least scrap companies won't bid with the insurance requirement. Talk about a short-sighted City Council....sheesh. Hopefully there will be enough backlash so they will re-think their decision to put it up for sale.

Seriously, I hope the deal tanks and if it doesn't, the "Queen" gets a good home. It's a very historical engine. Might be time to contact the Feds. Have fun, be safe, Bruce "Doc" Jones Sierra Madre CA Date: 07/23/16 16:10 Re: The Madam Queen is for sale Author: Realist I wonder about who approached the city first, then came
up way short of virtually everything required. Sounds like a bunch of dreamy foamers. |
