I think it has been done. It would be cool if UP ran 844 with 7400 and sold tickets.
The excursion for being a fundraiser to fight breast cancer.
Money from the tickets goes to fighting breast cancer.

All it would take would be for a sponsoring organization to sponsor and market such an excursion, just like the Denver Post newspaper does with the Cheyenne Frontier Days Special.

they have used the 7400 before on the cfd, the money does go to breast cancer every time thru the susan b kollman fund which maybe a denver post chrity, and or united way charity

The SGK I foundation I think it is. There would be lots of benefits for it. Heck maybe even put a temporary ribbon decal on 844s tender, maybe hot pink, like the Lionel's girl train.

Be careful of which charity... We have one out west, founded by the sister of the young woman who died of breast cancer. The sister skims off the first $600,000+ each year for her salary as president.

Oh heck, just do the full Lionel and paint the darned thing pink. That would get some serious attention.

I agree about the endless quoting of a hundredzillionity-word previous comments. Annoying and unnecessary.

Sadly I think a lot of the charity groups do that. I would like to know where the millions that Avon raises goes to....
