Maine 2 Steam Engine Winter Weekend
Author: mfmalk

The WW&F Railway museum, Maine Narrow Gauge, and Boothbay Railway Village are partnering together for a two engine weekend of steam in January of 2017. The weekends are 1/14 & 15, and 1/21 & 22. Monson RR #3 provided by Maine Narrow Gauge, and recently restored WW&F #9 will be fired up and provide lots of photo run bys. Boothbay Railway Village is loaning Bridgton & Saco River coach 11.

On Saturday the train leaves at or around 9 a.m. and the event will run until 4 p.m. The day will consist of two seperate trains with a few meets through out the day, as well as the possibility of a two engine train later in the day or at some point during the weekend.

On Sunday the event will run 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. with new train consists and a two engine train.

Saturday evening a special night photo session will be held to those wishing to participate but limited to 30 people.

Tickets are $400 per person for the weekend long session, night session an additional $75, and a box lunch is also available for another $15. Attendees are suggested to bring a lunch with them if they are not purchasing a box lunch as there is no scheduled lunch break.

Operations will start around 6 a.m. both days with the engine fire up and switching operations. Feel free to arrive early and get in a few extra shots before train time.

POTENTIAL EXTRAS: We have hopes to have a Bridgton & Saco River box car restored for the event, as well as our new turntable. If the turntable is completed by the event we have plans to do some turntable and yard scenes as well as turning the engines at different times.

Please note the railroad is entirely secluded with no public access except at the main yard and shop building. Please respect our neighbors as though they were your own.

For more information or to make a reservation please email us at reservations@wwfry.org

**Also please note seating is limited to 50 people per weekend and all reservations must be made on or before December 15th. Any cancellation must be done on or before December 15th.

As a veteran photo-charter attendee of events all across our country, and someone who attended the WW&F's Winter Weekend this past March; I highly recommend and suggest joining in on these weekends. The photo opportunities and railfan experiences are world-class, as to be expected from the WW&F Railway Museum. Maine 2-foot narrow gauge winter authentic steam action!

Funds raised from these two weekends will be directed back to the organizations participating in the event so the WW&F, along with Maine Narrow Gauge and Boothbay Railway Village, will all benefit from this event.
