Have seen nothing about the first weekend of Portland's Holiday Express operations with 4449.  How was the turnout?  I am unable to get there to volunteer, and would appreciate any reports.

We have had very good turnouts the first weekend.  Several sold out trains.  We have more sold out trains already in the coming weekends.

Understand all trains were sold out or nearly so. This weekend looks very good also.

I was wondering the same thing, i.e. why no photos. Doyle says 4449 is running great, and "sell outs" are the norm.  Always a great fund raiser.

Everything has gone very well, and yes most or all trips were sold out. But the weather was kinda crappy, so that may be part of the reason for no pictures yet.

A little 49 love from the first weekend...

1. (Orange and) Black Friday, 12pm run.
2. With a hint of Black Widow, Daylight arriving after the Saturday 11am run.
3. The Sun heard the children laughing and came out to play, 49 departing on the Saturday 3pm run.

This is my seventh year and at first I came for the trains, now I come for the friends. We could definitely use some volunteers, even if you cannot help us, do consider volunteering for something you believe in near your area. http://www.orhf.org/membership/orhf-volunteers/
