Steam & Excursion > Baldwin Santa TrainDate: 12/04/16 07:47 Baldwin Santa Train Author: melalbert Video of the Santa Train sponsored by the Lackawanna Heritage Valley National and State Heritage Area departing Carbondale, Pa. As Big Jim Lipnitz points out in a related post, this is the first time since 1999 that this Baldwin 0-6-0 has ventured off Steamtown property in Scranton since 1999. This cell phone video was pure happenstance as we were actually in Carbondale to inspect a Delaware and Hudson Center Cab Caboose parked on a nearby siding, acquired for restoration by the Rail-Trail Council of NE PA (pictured below). The initIal moments of the video are pure sound but, if patient, the proximity of the steam is worth the wait.

This caboose was determined to have been built by the D&H Oneonta shops on the frame of a former steam tender to serve ahead of pusher units on the Penn Division over Ararat. Your contributions are now welcome!
