Nevada St RR Museum Carson City NV - Flood Damage
Author: Kimball

Local news from Reno NV TV and on the website report extensive flood damage to track and grounds, but no damage to equipment and no injuries.  Apparently, the street above flooded from clogged storm drains and so the water ran through the museum grounds instead.  Damage estimated at $500,00 per one report, they are closed indefinitely.

From the Local Record Courier Newspaper:The Nevada State Railroad Museum on Carson Street is undergoing repairs of extensive damages from the flood, as water from Curry Street had to be diverted to the property.Museum Director Dan Thielen said the annex, restoration shop and the main museum is flooded and are looking at $500,000 in repair costs.“It’s been dramatic and overwhelming,” he said. “But overall, we’re doing good. Our collections are not destroyed.”
