More on IPH and the TSRR
Author: elueck

Article in the Palestine, Texas paper concerning today's Texas State Railroad Authority meeting

http://www.palestineherald.com/news/terminated-rail-employees-to-be-reinstated/article_fbe7d31a-dd27-11e6-891f-c732a3392e0f.html

Seems as if the TSR employees did not get their last paychecks either.

They'll lose $125,000 in the first two months of year?....Why?... if they got rid of a large majority of their staff and are not doing any repair work or the like, what the heck is sucking up $60,000 a month for non operations?

I know of successful tourist operations that can show that $125,000 is a quarter of their expenses for a single operating year ....

Is it their portion of the park payments or something?

From what I have read IPH is being vague on things.  For one, there is not any maintenance being done on track or cars.  You can not just shut down a railroad for months and then go out one day and start running it again.  Normally there are many workers who perform yearly maintenance during the winter when the TSR is not running and that is NOT being done.
