Heres a few more videos of 3985, this time backing her Pacific Limited train for overnight stay in Winnemucca,Nevada. Ordinarily a boring, routine move, but not with a hissing, smoking 4-6-6-4 Steam Engine, moving beautiful Armour Yellow passenger cars around!..The setting sun casts a beautiful brassy/gold glow on the sides and running gear of 3985. There may even be a few slips of the drivers, if you look closely? Video #2 has a good shot of our friend Bob Krieger in the cab! And I have noticed that 3985's whistle is hard to hear, while reviewing all these videos I have posted, on smartphone, with just speaker only, but it's all there if you use the earbuds, and especially if listening on home stereo system, all due to the mid-low frequency range of 3985's whistle.

Are they actually switching or just spotting cars to be watered?

If I remember correctly Realist is correct in that we were watering cars on that trip. Whenever we had extra moves, Steve would have me run the locomotive while he helped with the ground work.

Yes,your correct, and after servicing cars the train was backed a little more until 3985 was positioned adjacent to depot parking lot,so oil truck could access 3985 in the morning, plus water access was there too. I used the word "Switching" in these 2 posts as a generic term,to let viewers know it wasn't a photo runby,or high power/high action video..But thanks for the clarification!.
