..or if this one is my fav - hmmm. Yup, I think this one takes the cake with the human element thrown in with the somewhat eerie but definitely alive feel of the roundhouse. Brooklyn when mixed with steam shows a lotta T.L.C.

Hey Chris, GREAT coverage. Man, you are getting to be the Photo man for our engines here in the northwest. Those roundhouse shots are contest winners. When did the 700 number plate under the headlight get re-installed?

Nice work. I decided against heading to Portland/Vancouver, so seeing your photos is as good as being there. Thanks.

Thanks for the neat pictures. I chased the 700
over to Vancouver and back and shot some video
but your pictures sure do capture the moments
and visual majesty of the "Lady" doing her
magic. Hopefully we will get a chance to see
her out and about during the upcoming NRHS
Convention to be held during the week of July
4th 2005.

The number board under the light was added just before the December Christmas train. While many comments were made about the 4449 going back to it’s 40’s appearance, on the next stall the 700 has also gone to a ‘retro’ look. Gone are the big number boards along the stack (SP&S added them around 1950) and the number is back under the light. The tender has the old SP&S “North Bank Road” logo. The engine now resembles the 1938 delivery photos. It sure looks different without the rabbit ear number boards.

Wow! Great pictures! The Lady is one of my favorite steamers. I'll have to go to Portland sometime and see the collection at the roundhouse there. I like that they put the number plate back on the engine.

Really great show guys. I loved that shot of the 700 backing out to the table. Now that I've had to chance to visit you this fall and meet the crew, I really enjoyed seeing the photos of your outing! Merry Christmas and great New Year!

I have yet to see that Big Baldwin racing on the main....perhaps in July of '05. There is something about the big bell swingers.

Thanks. I love this locomotive. Worth a trip west. Bought a DVD of a trip it made and am just in awe of the 700.
