Nostalgia & History > MoP's bi-centennial dieselsDate: 10/18/05 22:08 MoP's bi-centennial diesels Author: xtra1188w Here's the Missouri Pacific's offer back in 1976, era of the nation's 200th year anniversary. To me, it doesn't seem like it's been almost 30 years since all of that took place. When I was about the same age that Alex Ramos and some of the younger foamers on Trainorders are, 30 years earlier would have been in the mid 1920s, and that did seem like a long long time ago! This just gives me a little perspective on all of this.

Date: 10/19/05 13:01 I never understood why the MoPac....... Author: cdub painted up a couple lowly geeps in BiCentennial colors instead of more modern units, like SD40-2's, U30C's, or even GP38-2s. The only reason I can think of is that they already had the 1976 and 1776 road numbers. Same goes for the CNW too.
