fall colors

UP and WP power head west toward Ogden near Taggarts,UT. It's October, 1971. The WP's would
have looked better in orange and silver, but they are not yellow. The canyons in this area
provide the best chance of fall color and trains near each other.

One of only 10 U28C's heads east not far from the last shot. The colors are just past peak,
but hanging in there.

Here's the same train with 105. Gives a bit different feel to the shot. 105 has been one of
my favorite for action.

Thanks for the peek of a past fall. Certainly very fine views, and as always very enjoyable.

Pic 1:  SD-45's at the point... weren't they the units UP "loved to hate"?  How long did they keep them?

Good God I hope they repainted that ugly turquoise off those bridges! That has got to be one of the worst... absolute worst colors on the planet.
