DRGW Caboose 01488 Train 187 - 1984

Growling up Coal Creek Canyon, Colorado, approaching tunnel one on a frigid January 15, 1984 was train 187 (Denver North Yard to Salt Lake City, Utah). The conductor and brakeman were warm aboard caboose 01488 as GP40-2's climb the Front Range on the Moffat.

For some reason I do not remember the snow in Colorado being pink, yellow maybe but only small patches of it.

DRGW Caboose 01413 Train 710 - 1984

Wearing black paint from its Denver & Salt Lake days, Denver & Rio Grande Western caboose 01413 was on train 710, ? Mine to Nixon Generation Station south of Fountain, CO. It was descending the Colorado Front Range at Coal Creek Canyon January 19, 1984.
