SP at McNeil
Author: xtra1188w

A few days ago I posted a thread about a "block indicator signal for people" on the former SP Llano branchline where it crosses the MoP/UP mainline at McNeil. Gerry Putz later on posted a shot with a UP train in the picture at McNeil. Here is a shot with an SP train in the picture. This is looking west at an eastbound, just west of the diamond. I was standing just about where the 1/2 mp was when I took this picture.

Neat stuff, Con!

That's a GP9 there on the point though.

Keep 'em pictures coming.

Cheers,
Harry

That looks like a woman engineer. In 1976 this was not that common, so someone out there in TO land could probaly come up with a bit more history if I am correct.

Con, here's one from May '04 of light units at the same spot as your second image. Gerry

I just now noticed that the 1/2 mp sign that's just west of the diamond about 75-80 feet today, isn't in your shots from 2004, nor mine from the 1970's, but it's there in the shots that I took just last week. trivia, that's all.
