A-B-B-A UP style in '77

Not the greatest of photos, BUT, it wasn't too common to catch an actual A-B-B-A set of these beasts. May '77 near City of Industry, CA.

NOW thats some power i would have liked to get my hands on.
Be kinda hard to switch 4 loaded gondolas on 12 degree curves on 2% grades with those things.

They were built to handle a 20 degree curve coupled.

Nice Shot!!!!!!!!, That's Real 10,000 HP!! with 8 V16-567-D2's hard at work with 36 GE 752 Traction motors. (Does anyone know why EMD used the GE 752 motors on the DD35 and the DD35A instead of EMD's D67 motors?)

I think you mean 20,000 horsepower.. 2500hp x 2 x 4 units

Like I said before, wish I was just a couple o' years older to get my drivers license then to see these things!

I knew Don would have the answer that I was looking for, He's the UP power guru for I have your books, I shall seek more often for UP info <G>
Harry ur right, those units r so huge and impressive that I had a hard time on the HP equivilance for them.
