Nice ones to use on your Christmas cards! Take Care, Stay Safe, Have Fun! Larry Date: 02/27/06 13:59 Re: SP snowy meet at Hiland Author: DynamicBrake Real nice shots Brian. Did Hiland have an orders stand, or did the operator "hand them up"? It looks like the head end brakeman just snagged the orders...nice action picture.

I'll look through some of my pics and see if I have a shot of it.-Brian Date: 02/27/06 22:08 Re: SP snowy meet at Hiland Author: NscaleMike Nice series of pics!
Well done. Mike Date: 02/28/06 10:43 Re: SP snowy meet at Hiland Author: WAF At one time there was an order stand. Stein has a picture of a train getting orders off of it.
Date: 03/01/06 10:19 Re: SP snowy meet at Hiland Author: JohnSweetser Page 231 of Chard Walker's "Railroading Throgh Cajon Pass" has a good Richard Steinheimer photo of the operator at Hiland setting orders at the train order stand (this was one of the modern, thin, telescoping stands). Between the tracks there was no stand, so the operator did it the old fashioned way there (for photo of operator delivering orders between the tracks, see pg. 111 of Serpico's "Railroading Through the Antelope Valley").
