GT in the Chicago area in early '70's

In August '71 a GT transfer run was headed out of Elsden yard, GT's Chicago area yard headed by a CV switch unit with an old wooden GT caboose bringing up the rear and in August '73 the nose of a GT F unit [the last one?] was sticking out of the Elsden roundhouse.

Thanks for posting the photos. Just for the record it is Elsdon yard. I remember it like it was yesterday. At that point F3A 9013 was in storage waiting to be shipped up to CN`s Transcona shop for the F7Au remanufacturing program. CV 1502 would soon be repainted blue, and lettered GT 1502.

Cool shots, I saw and photographed the 1502 in fresh CV paint in 1964...in Portland ME on the "other" Grand Trunk...
